I live at the intersection of media and technology. If there is a chance to start, expand or revitalize a company that improves the lives of people through technology then I am listening... The business of the internet is my life.
But that is super vague. And dramatic. And while I love being both vague and dramatic, it's not super helpful.
Thus:
I was born and raised in Delton, MI, a hotbed of the social web. I went to Kalamazoo College where I studied International Political Economics and Art. After school I wasn't sure what I wanted to do, so like many before me I went to law school (how original, right?) in Boston, MA. It was phenomenal. Seriously, if you haven't been to Boston/Cambridge you must go. But that's not important now. What is important is Glassbooth.
Glassbooth is a nonprofit organization that is creating innovative ways to access political information. I founded Glassbooth in April 2007 with three friends. We spent months and months raising money, building the brand and the website and it launched November of 2007. It was an instant success, with over 1.5 million unique users in its first three open months. We were also featured in the NYTimes, Wired, the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric, Techcrunch, BBC America and tons of other publications. Honestly, it has been phenomenal.
Following the success of Glassbooth, I was offered a job to help a media company in Chicago, IL grow their presence online. They made me an offer I couldn't refuse and digitalzaar was born!
Since then, I have been lucky enough to work with some of the smartest people on the web on 4 different projects. If you are interested in this work let me know. I would be happy to talk about it with you.
